View from the cab

What the lookout saw from its cab: every ridge out to about 93 miles, the named peaks in sight, and other fire lookouts within view, worked out from terrain data in your browser.

This lookout is gone. The view is reconstructed from its recorded site and a typical height for a lookout like it.

Downloads about 4.0 MB of terrain data the first time.

Or see what it could see on the map: the ground in its line of sight.

The site lies nine miles southwest of the Kelly Creek ranger station, according to firelookout.com and a Forest Service list of the forest's lookouts.1,3 That list places it in section 34, township 39 north, range 8 east.3 The statewide list gives its coordinates as 46.67590 north and 115.42910 west.4

Idaho Fire Lookouts marks the site as "Hike-In," which points to a walk to reach it.2 No source I found describes what, if anything, remains there today, or whether visitors may enter.
