The Hungry Point site lies in the Clearwater National Forest, in Idaho County, at about 5,770 feet.1,2,3,4 The lookout was an L-4 cab set on a log crib, built in 1934.1,2 The Fire Lookout Association's Idaho list calls it a two-story cab.5 The other sources describe an L-4 cab on a log crib and give no story count.1,2,3 The L-4 was a 14-by-14 cabin design, prefabricated for live-in use, and such cabins were produced until 1952.6

The lookout was abandoned in 1945 and is listed as gone.1,2,3 Idaho Fire Lookouts marks the site as hike-in rather than drive-up.3 No source describes what, if anything, remains at the site today, or says whether it is open to visitors.
