The Lookout Peak site is in Clearwater County, Idaho, about nine miles south-southeast of the Kelly Creek Ranger Station, at an elevation of 6,876 feet.1,2,3

The lookout was built in 1934 as a 75-foot pole tower with an L-6 cab and a cabin.1,2,3 Idaho Fire Lookouts lists Ed Jones as the only named person who staffed it.2 It credits the name to Fire Lookouts of the Northwest and gives no date for it.2

The lookout was destroyed in 1962.1,2,3 The firelookout.org index now marks the tower as gone.4

Idaho Fire Lookouts labels the site a hike-in.2 No source we read describes what, if anything, remains at the site today, or what the route to it is like now. Anyone who wants to visit should check with the Clearwater National Forest before heading out.
