View from the cab
What the lookout saw from its cab: every ridge out to about 93 miles, the named peaks in sight, and other fire lookouts within view, worked out from terrain data in your browser.
This lookout is gone. The view is reconstructed from its recorded site and its recorded height.
Downloads about 3.9 MB of terrain data the first time.

Story
Researched 10 Oct 2026, fact-checked.
Uleda Point Lookout stood in the Kaniksu National Forest, about nine miles northwest of Sandpoint, Idaho.1 Its tower was a 55-foot pole structure with an L-4 cab, built in 1934 on a slope north of the ridgecrest.1,2 The Forest Lookouts site gives the same year and height.3
The Forest Fire Lookout Association's Idaho list marks the tower as gone.4 A firelookout.com page gives 1934 as the start and a question mark as the end, and says the site may still hold ruins.1
The Idaho Fire Lookouts page describes drive-up ruins at about 4,953 feet of elevation.2 We found no source that says whether the road to the site is open to the public, or what the ruins look like now, so check with the Kaniksu National Forest before you go.
