Story

Researched 10 Oct 2026, fact-checked.

Eaglehead was a Minnesota Forest Service lookout in Pine County, numbered tower 2 in the county list.1 The list dates it to 1928 and gives its height as 81 feet, for an Aermotor ladder tower.1 A 1952 survey described a four-legged steel structure with an enclosed observation platform at the top and put its height at about 100 feet, which does not match the 81 feet in the county table.1

The county list says the tower was removed.1 The Forest Fire Lookout Association lists it as Tower Gone, without a date, and places it in Pine County at 46.12867 north and 92.60553 west.2

No source we read describes the site now, including whether anything stands there or whether the public can reach it.
