Story

Researched 9 Oct 2026, fact-checked.

The Energy Lookout Tower stands in Clarke County, Mississippi, at about 526 feet of elevation.1 The National Historic Lookout Register describes it as a 100-foot Aermotor MC-39 tower.1 The register says the Mississippi Forestry Commission administers the tower.1

The register gives no build date, lists the year as unknown, and says nothing about who built the tower or who staffed it.1 I found no other record of either. The register does not mention any fire the tower was used to watch.1

The tower was registered on July 4, 2022.1 The register's only condition note says the tower was in good condition as of July 2, 2022.1 No later report on its condition was found, so its state today is not confirmed.

The register does not describe public access, so any visiting rules or present use are unknown.1 This is a thin record built on one source.1 It is best read as a registered structure with an undocumented history.
