Yalobusha Lookout Tower is in Yalobusha County, Mississippi, and the Mississippi Forestry Commission administers it.1 The register describes a 100-foot Aermotor tower with a diagonal staircase.1 It gives the elevation as 375 feet (114 meters), while OpenStreetMap gives 112 meters.1,2

The register gives no build year and lists the build date as unknown.1 The sources I could read do not say who put the tower up or when, and they record no staffing history or notable fires.

The National Historic Lookout Register lists the tower as US 1689, MS 49, and registered it on July 21, 2022.1 A site visit logged on February 5, 2022 ranked it among the better-preserved Forestry Commission towers.1 OpenStreetMap maps the structure as an observation tower.2

Nothing I read says the tower has been moved, closed or burned, but the only visit in the sources is from 2022, so its current condition is unconfirmed.1 The sources do not say whether visitors may go up the tower or onto the site, so this story makes no claim about access. Please check with the Commission before visiting, and do not climb the tower.
