View from the cab

What the lookout saw from its cab: every ridge out to about 93 miles, the named peaks in sight, and other fire lookouts within view, worked out from terrain data in your browser.

This lookout is gone. The view is reconstructed from its recorded site and a typical height for a lookout like it.

Downloads about 4.4 MB of terrain data the first time.

Bunker Hill is a former fire tower on the Kootenai National Forest, in Lincoln County, Montana, about 10 miles east-southeast of Yaak.1 Firelookout.com gives its elevation as 6,516 feet.1

The page gives only the decade, the 1930s, for a pole L-4 tower at the south end, below the summit.1 Firelookout.com marks the tower as gone.1

The Forest Fire Lookout Association lists Bunker Hill among Lincoln County's lookout structures and sites. Its list calls the type a tower and the status gone, with the site at 48.8049, -115.50523.2 Both pages describe the tower as gone, so the two sources agree on its status.1,2

No source describes what, if anything, remains at the site today, or whether the public can reach it.
