The Clymer tower site is in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, at an elevation the register gives as 1,697 feet.1

The tower came from a site called Chickaree.1,2 The Chickaree register entry, for a place in Cambria County, says a steel Aermotor tower was built there in 1921 and moved in 1930, when it was renamed Clymer.2

A 1930 item from The Indiana Gazette, quoted on the Forest Lookouts site, describes moving the old Chickaree tower, a steel structure 60 feet tall, to a spot near Clymer.3 The item also said the new spot would improve what the towerman could see.3

The Clymer entry says the tower was built in 1930, which conflicts with the Chickaree entry's 1921 build date.1,2 The 1930 newspaper item describes a move rather than a build, so the Clymer date looks like the year the tower arrived.3

The register says the tower was removed in 1978 and recorded the site on September 16, 2008.1

No source describes what remains at the site today, or whether the ground is open to visitors.
