View from the cab

What the lookout saw from its cab: every ridge out to about 93 miles, the named peaks in sight, and other fire lookouts within view, worked out from terrain data in your browser.

This lookout is gone. The view is reconstructed from its recorded site and a typical height for a lookout like it.

Downloads about 3.3 MB of terrain data the first time.

Story

Researched 10 Oct 2026, fact-checked.

The Kahill tower stood in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.1 The register calls it a steel Blaw-Knox tower and gives the alternate names Kahill and Cahill.1 It says the tower was built in 1922 and removed in 1946.1

A June 2021 post on paparksandforests.org says Blaw-Knox towers were erected in 1922 and 1923.2 That post is about a different tower, Little Flat, so it offers context for those dates rather than proof of the Kahill dates.2

The site was entered in the register on September 16, 2008, with Henry Isenberg as the nominator.1

No source we found describes what, if anything, remains at the site today. No source we found says whether the site is open to the public.
