View from the cab

What you see from the cab: every ridge out to about 93 miles, the named peaks in sight, and other fire lookouts within view, worked out from terrain data in your browser.

Downloads about 3.4 MB of terrain data the first time.

Or see what it could see on the map: the ground in its line of sight.

Story

Researched 9 Oct 2026, fact-checked.

The access road to the Port Clinton Fire Tower has a sign at its entrance that names Weiser State Forest.1 The Forest Lookouts site lists the tower under Berks County, with no build date or height.2 A 2001 Morning Call walk guide, however, calls it a Schuylkill County tower.3 We could not settle the county from these sources, and we could not confirm when the tower was built or how tall it is.

The DCNR trail guide calls the Pinnacle the highest point in Berks County.1 It says hikers can start from the tower itself or from the Pinnacle/Weiser Trail, which is about half a mile away.1

Komoot describes the tower as inactive, blocked off and not open for climbing.4 Treat it as a place to look at from a distance, not a place to climb.
