Your first visit
Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.
First step: Come to the August Sunday festival at Cherry Street Pier, or email the organizers to ask about volunteering.
You can just show up. No sign up needed.
What to expect
The festival runs from noon to 8 pm on the pier, with music, food, fashion and vendor booths. Anyone can walk in for free. The committee members who plan it are unpaid volunteers.
Tips for your first visit
- Plan your ride, since the pier is reachable by public transit
- Street parking is available nearby, paid and free, so allow time to find a spot
- Email or call ahead if you want to volunteer on festival day
Newcomer welcome
Welcoming to newcomers (4 out of 5). Why we say this: The festival is free and open to all, and the site invites new volunteers to get involved and lists a contact email and phone.
