Guides for getting started

New to Philly

New in town? The fastest way to feel at home is to show up in the same places a few times.

A good way to begin

  1. Pick one place close to where you live.
  2. Go three times before you decide. Faces and routines get familiar with every visit.
  3. Bring a friend if you can. It helps.

First chats with strangers usually go better than people expect. Most groups are happy to see someone new.

Want an easy first regular thing? Try a quizzo night. It is bar trivia in the same place every week, so you keep seeing the same friendly faces.
