Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Send the club a message through its contact form or Instagram saying you are coming, then join a Monday or Wednesday practice at Lanier Playground at 7:30 pm, or the Rugby 101 clinic before the next season..

You can just show up. You need to sign up first.

What to expect

Practices run Monday and Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Lanier Playground, and a player with no experience can come to any of them after letting the club know. Rugby 101 is the beginner clinic held before each fall and spring season. A new player's rookie season costs $50, and the club says it works case by case on dues.

Tips for your first visit

  • Bring athletic gear, cleats if you have them, water, and sun protection.
  • Let the club know in advance through its contact form or Instagram, since the page asks for notice.
  • Check the join page for the next Rugby 101 date before you come.

Newcomer welcome

Very welcoming to newcomers (5 out of 5). Why we say this: Rugby 101 is a beginner clinic held before each season, and the club says new players are welcome at every practice with no experience needed..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Low cost. A new player's rookie season is $50, and social membership is $50 per season. The club works case by case to reduce or waive dues for people who cannot afford them.
