What they do
Register for the yearly summit, or apply to the PADMed pathway if you are a college sophomore at a Greater Philadelphia university. PADMed asks for a 3.2 GPA or higher and a grade of B minus or better in core science courses. Scholars also get access to the mentorship network.

When and where
A yearly one-day summit, 8 am to 4 pm. PADMed scholars attend monthly programming through the academic year.
- Times
- Daytime
We do not have a meeting place for this group yet.
Your first visit
Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.
First step: Register for the summit through the events page, or, if you are a college sophomore, use the Apply Today button on the PADMed page..
Check with the group before you show up. You need to sign up first.
What to expect
A summit visit is a full day, 8 am to 4 pm, with a keynote, interactive workshops such as restorative practices and cultural humility, and a poster competition. The site does not say what the summit costs. PADMed scholars meet an advisor each semester and attend monthly programming.
Tips for your first visit
- Read the full agenda before you register so you can pick the workshops you want.
- Email programs@philacdhe.org with PADMed questions before you apply.
Newcomer welcome
Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The summit is open to anyone who registers. PADMed needs an application and grade requirements, so it is not an open door..
Cost and commitment
- Cost
- Cost not known yet. The summit fee is not stated on the site. For PADMed scholars, the site says the program covers summer housing, transportation, and a food stipend, and provides SEPTA passes and meals for in-person sessions.
