Saved in this browser only.

Who it is for
- Who can join
- Open to anyone
When and where
Published twice a year as a print magazine, with an open call for each issue.
We do not have a meeting place for this group yet.
Your first visit
Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.
First step: Start a submission on the submissions page before the issue 4 window closes on Nov 15, 2026.
You need to sign up first.
What to expect
Submissions go through an external online form, and photo or art work is limited to 5 to 10 images per edition. Accepted pieces earn a one-time cash payment plus a share of royalties, and artists keep ownership of their work. The site does not describe selection criteria or when decisions are made.
Tips for your first visit
- Read the issue theme on the submissions page before you choose work to send
- Use JPEG or PNG files at 300 dpi if you can, since 240 dpi is the minimum accepted, each under 10 MB
- Buy a past issue in the shop first to see the magazine, with local pickup available
Newcomer welcome
Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The open call is public, has a clear deadline and form, and is open to any artist or writer, but acceptance is by review and the selection criteria are not stated.
Cost and commitment
- Cost
- Low cost. New applicants pay a $25 submission fee, while previously featured artists and DVAA members pay nothing. Past issues cost $20 to $25 each in the shop, with local pickup available.
