When and where

Group leaders host work days through the year. Neighbor Nights run on the last Thursday of the month from May to September, a casual family night outdoors with food, music and games. Treecycling, a holiday tree drop-off, runs on the first two weekends of January. The site shows no dates for the work days.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Email Corinthiangardens19130@gmail.com or fespp19130@gmail.com to ask about the next work day or volunteer opening..

What to expect

Group leaders run work days through the year, and the tasks listed include weeding shared beds and mulching paths. The volunteer page does not give dates, orientation, or what to wear. Volunteering has no listed fee.

Tips for your first visit

  • Email before you come, because work day dates are not posted.
  • To get a garden plot, plan on 15 volunteer hours and one FESPP event the year before. Plots are assigned in March.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The volunteer page is public and gives email addresses to ask. It does not say whether work days need approval, orientation or dues..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Free. Volunteering and events have no listed fees. Garden plot holders renew a $50 membership each year, and financial help is available.
