Your first visit
Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.
First step: Watch the Volunteer Opportunities page on gorgaspark.com for the next spring planting or cleanup day, and sign up through the link posted there..
You need to sign up first.
What to expect
Spring planting and cleanup days are the main way to help, and they are announced each season. The site does not say how long these days last, what tasks there are, or what to bring. A past planting day had limited spots, so sign up early.
Tips for your first visit
- Sign up early, since a past planting day had limited spots.
- The site does not list what to bring or wear. The Contact Us form on gorgaspark.com is the only listed way to ask.
Newcomer welcome
Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: Planting and cleanup days are open to volunteers who sign up on the group's site. The site does not describe a first-timer step..
