Kitten Snatchers

Also called: KittenSnatchers

A volunteer-run Philadelphia rescue that takes in stray cats and kittens and places them in foster homes until they are adopted.

  • Paid

Saved in this browser only.

What they do

Foster a cat in your home while it waits for adoption, or offer temporary hosting. Adopt through the online application, or donate. The rescue has no shelter building, so cats live with volunteer fosters.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Fill in the foster application or the temporary host form linked on the site, or email cats@kittensnatchers.org with questions..

You need to sign up first.

What to expect

Adopters apply online, and approval can take up to 5 days. The rescue then connects you with the foster caring for the cat, you meet by video or in person, and kittens go home only after spay or neuter surgery. The pages read do not describe foster duties, supplies, orientation, or hours.

Tips for your first visit

  • Pick at least two cats you like, since the adoption page advises it in case another adopter gets the first one.
  • Expect the foster to ask about your home life and what you want in a cat.

Newcomer welcome

Takes some effort for newcomers (2 out of 5). Why we say this: Fostering, hosting and adopting all start with a form, and the site lists no orientation, volunteer shifts, or events, so the way in is a form first..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. Adoption fees are $155 for cats over 1 year, $180 for cats under 1 year, and $500 for purebreds, which the site says include tax. The site says the fee covers spay or neuter, medical care, and foster care, and it lists no fee for fostering.
