Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Buy a timed entry ticket online through the ticket link on moaphilly.org. Booking ahead cuts the wait, and walk-up entry depends on availability..

Check with the group before you show up. You need to sign up first.

What to expect

Plan for 90 minutes to 2 hours, with no time limit. Staff greet you about 10 minutes before your slot, explain the house guidelines, and then you explore the six stories on your own, with performers who respond to what you do. Wear comfortable shoes, and expect steps, uneven floors and low lighting in some areas.

Tips for your first visit

  • Wear comfortable shoes, since the building has many levels and some uneven areas.
  • Leave large bags, backpacks and strollers at home. Lockers are available.
  • Street parking is limited. Nearby garages are listed, and SpotHero or meterUP can reserve a space.
  • Empty water bottles are fine, and there are refill stations inside.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: Open to the public with online timed tickets, and the visit page says the experience is designed for all ages. Walk-up entry depends on availability..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. Ticketed entry. Prices are not listed on the visit page. Children's tickets exist, and children under 2 are free.

Access and languages

Wheelchair access
Partly wheelchair accessible
Languages spoken
We do not know yet which languages are spoken.
Access notes
Service animals are welcome. The building is described as ADA compliant, but the two visitor pages disagree on elevators: one says every level except the basement, and the other says only floors one to four, with no elevator to the basement or fifth floor. Some areas have steps, uneven floors and low lighting. Nearest SEPTA stop, per the visitor guide: Market-Frankford Line, 2nd Street station.

Requirements

  • Children can take part with a parent.
