Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Fill out the online volunteer form on the Connect page for a food pantry shift (2nd and 4th Saturdays, 9 am to 2 pm), or call (215) 385-5135 to ask about the next leadership session..

You need to sign up first.

What to expect

A food pantry shift runs 9 am to 2 pm on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. Volunteers check stock, organize new items, bag groceries and interact with families in Hunting Park. The site does not describe a training or what a leadership session looks like.

Tips for your first visit

  • Call (215) 385-5135 or email info@ohmovement.org before your first shift to confirm the time.
  • The office at 2066 W Hunting Park Ave is open Monday to Friday, 2 to 8 pm.
  • Donations of supplies are accepted all year, and the site keeps a list of current needs.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The site has online forms for volunteers, mentors and young people, plus a phone and email for questions. It does not describe what a first session or shift is like..
