Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Email kelly@phillypals.com to get on the waitlist, since the summer and fall 2026 seasons are full..

Check with the group before you show up. You need to sign up first.

What to expect

Games are on weeknight evenings and Sunday days at the Tiffany Fletcher Rec Center, in two ten-game seasons with a single-elimination playoff. Umpires are provided, and every team is guaranteed at least one playoff game. Teams get 15 shirts and a scorebook when the season begins.

Tips for your first visit

  • Men use wooden softball bats only. Women and non-binary players need USA or ASA approved bats.
  • Wear plastic or molded cleats, since metal cleats are not allowed.
  • There is ample free street parking around the rec center.
  • Teams need four or more women or non-binary players, counting the roster and the field.

Newcomer welcome

Takes some effort for newcomers (2 out of 5). Why we say this: The current season is full, so the only way in is a waitlist by email, and players must register as a team or as a free agent..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. Teams pay $865 per season plus $20 per game for umpires, paid at the field. Free agents pay $80 per person when a spot is available, plus the same $20 per game. Registrations are not refundable.
