Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Book a $30 trial lesson through the online registration link, or call Fred Turoff at (215) 204-7452 to arrange one. Then fill in the application and medical liability forms..

You need to sign up first.

What to expect

Preschool classes last 45 minutes and beginner girls classes last 55 minutes, once a week to start. Preschool has a low student-to-teacher ratio, and the higher levels are by staff invitation. The site does not describe a first class, so the trial lesson is the best way to see one.

Tips for your first visit

  • Use the Directions page on the gym's site. The separate PDF directions are marked as incorrect.
  • Ask which level fits your child before you book, since advanced levels are by staff invitation.
  • Call (215) 204-7452 or email info@philadelphiaboysgymnastics.org if you have questions before you come.

Newcomer welcome

Welcoming to newcomers (4 out of 5). Why we say this: The site lists beginner and preschool classes and a $30 trial lesson, and it explains how a new family starts..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. Monthly tuition is $130 for preschool or beginner girls classes at one class a week, with extra days at $125 a month each. Boys competition levels run $230 to $450 a month. A trial lesson costs $30. A summer policy reduces a month's tuition for boys competition families who miss training in July or August.
How often
