When and where

Ballet classes run through the school year in four divisions: preschool (ages 3 to 6), primary (ages 7 to 12), pre-professional (ages 13 to 18), and adult (18 and up). Class times are posted as an image on the class schedule page, so call the studio to read them. The company performs A Philadelphia Nutcracker each December and a spring new-works show.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Fill out the trial class form on the website to get a class recommendation, take the free trial class, then get placed in a level and register through the studio's Dance StudioPro portal..

Check with the group before you show up. You need to sign up first.

What to expect

The free trial class lets a dancer try the studio while faculty choose the right level and classes. Afterward, faculty suggest a schedule, and you register online through the studio's portal. Classes are grouped into preschool, primary, pre-professional, and adult divisions.

Tips for your first visit

  • Fill in the trial class form before you come, since it starts the class recommendation.
  • Check the dress code page before the trial class, and contact the office about anything the site does not cover.
  • Parking and transit are not listed on the site, so ask the office before your first visit.

Newcomer welcome

Welcoming to newcomers (4 out of 5). Why we say this: The studio has a set path for newcomers: a free first class, a recommendation form, and faculty placement. Classes are open to the public, and the site explains each step..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. The first class is free. Monthly tuition runs from $95 for pre-ballet to $475 for the top levels, billed over nine months from September to May, plus a $50 registration fee per student each year. Siblings get 15 percent off family tuition. Boys in the tuition-free program pay no tuition when they meet its weekly class minimums, but they still pay the $50 registration fee.
