Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Buy a timed ticket online for a visit during opening hours, Wednesday to Monday, 11 am to 6 pm..

Check with the group before you show up.

What to expect

A visit is a timed, self-guided walk through the mosaic installation and museum. Staff can lend a folding chair on request, and sensory bags are available if you want them. Guided tours and Family Jams are also offered.

Tips for your first visit

  • Reserve a timed ticket online before you come, since slots often sell out.
  • Last admission is 15 minutes before closing, and the site is closed on Tuesdays.
  • For sensory bags or other access help, call 215-733-0390 ext. 120 or email info@phillymagicgardens.org.
  • Family Jams are free with museum admission and run on Sundays from noon to 4 pm.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: Open to the public at set hours with posted prices, though timed tickets often sell out. The site also lists tours, volunteering and membership..

Cost and commitment

Cost
Paid. Adults $15. Students, seniors 65 and up, and people with disabilities $12. Children 6 to 12 $8, and children 5 and under free. PMG members get in free. Tickets are timed and often sell out, so reserve online.

Access and languages

Wheelchair access
Partly wheelchair accessible
Languages spoken
We do not know yet which languages are spoken.
Access notes
Indoor galleries and parts of the sculpture garden are reachable, but the page calls wheelchair access somewhat limited. The tour basement and garden have narrow passages and stairs, and no ramp or elevator is listed. Loaner manual wheelchairs, a rollator and a cane chair go out first come, first served. Free sensory bags (noise canceling headphones, fidget toys, sunglasses) are at the front desk if you leave an ID, and reserving ahead is advised. Service animals are welcome on a leash. The pre-visit video has captions and an ASL interpreter. Touch tours for blind and low vision visitors, ages 14 and up, need a reservation.

Requirements

  • Children can take part with a parent.
