Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Register for the STEM Conference on Saturday, November 21, 2026, through the registration form on the group's site, or send the membership form to join as a volunteer mentor..

Check with the group before you show up. You need to sign up first.

What to expect

The STEM conference runs from 9:30 am to 4 pm on a Saturday at Temple University's Morgan Hall. Past teen girls conferences have included workshops on confidence, fashion, and social media, plus skits and public speaking. The site does not list prices or describe a first event.

Tips for your first visit

  • Fill in the online registration form ahead of time, since events and the cohort sign up online.
  • Morgan Hall is on Temple University's campus at 1700 N. Broad Street.
  • The leadership cohort meets at Universal Institute Charter School, 1415 Catherine Street.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: Events and membership have clear online sign-up forms, and nothing requires an invitation. The site does not describe what a first event is like..
