Student group

Student Planning Association (SPA)

The student group for City Planning students at Penn's Stuart Weitzman School of Design. It speaks up for students inside the department and school through class representatives their classmates elect, and it plans social events away from class.

What they do

Bring a student concern to the group's elected class representatives, or come to one of its social events. Past events it lists include bowling nights, pizza parties, a tailgate and a T-shirt fundraiser, but the page does not say how to join.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Email the group to ask how to join and whether its social events are open to people outside the department..

You can just show up.

What to expect

The page describes class representatives and social events, not a regular meeting, and it does not say how long events last or who attends. Ask the group before you plan to go.

Tips for your first visit

Check first whether an event is for students only.
The Weitzman School is at 102 Meyerson Hall, 210 South 34th Street.

Newcomer welcome

Takes some effort for newcomers (2 out of 5). Why we say this: The group's page describes a student group elected by class and gives no steps for joining, so the way in is unclear..

Cost and commitment

Cost: Cost not known yet. Dues are not stated on the group's page.

Access and languages

Wheelchair access: We do not know yet. Ask the group before you go.
Languages spoken: We do not know yet which languages are spoken.

Requirements

We found no special requirements. Ask the group if you are not sure.

How to reach them

We copy contact details as the group or a public source published them. Each one shows where it came from.
