What they do

Kids ages 6 to 16 can register for the annual summer basketball camp, which pairs basketball with workshops and a guest speaker. High school students can enter the MLK Day speech contest, where the top three win scholarships, or join Basketball Beyond Buckets for Sunday practices, SAT tutoring, and college visits. The group also gives Thanksgiving food to low-income families each November.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Email twbasketballcamp@gmail.com to ask when the next camp sign-up opens. The most recent sign-up form on the site is for the 2026 camp..

You need to sign up first.

What to expect

The camp runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3 pm for two weeks in August at two Philadelphia sites. Campers play basketball and take workshops in yoga, coding, physical education, and arts and crafts, with a guest speaker after lunch.

Tips for your first visit

  • Pack lunch, a filled water bottle, and any medicine your camper needs.
  • Check which site your camper's week uses, since the two weeks are held at different places.
  • Watch for the confirmation email, which carries the details after you register.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The camp sign-up form and a camp email address are public, and the camp takes Philadelphia kids ages 6 to 16..

Cost and commitment
