What they do

Neighbors take part in community meetings and potlucks, help with the Tulpehocken Station Garden, share ideas on how vacant land could be used, and offer to help when they can. The group also works on local history, including the Tulpehocken Station Historic District.

When and where

Four regular community meetings a year: the last Sunday in January, the last Wednesday in March, Memorial Day, and the first Sunday in October. Three of the four are held at the end of a potluck, and other meetings are called when needed.

Your first visit

Feeling unsure the first time is normal. Most groups are glad when someone new walks in.

First step: Come to a community meeting, or email the board at wcgnboard@gmail.com with an idea or an offer to help..

You can just show up. No sign up needed.

What to expect

Neighbors come to the community meetings, and families with kids have been part of them. Last fall's potluck meeting at Wyck drew about 40 neighbors, including costumed kids and dogs. Ask the board for the next date and place, since the site does not list them.

Tips for your first visit

  • Email the board for the next meeting date and place before you come.
  • Sign up for the free online newsletter to hear about the next meeting.
  • If the meeting is a potluck, bring a dish to share.

Newcomer welcome

Fine for newcomers, but you may need to speak up (3 out of 5). Why we say this: The volunteer page invites ideas and offers of help and lists attending a meeting as a first step, but the site does not list meeting dates or places..
